Vintage Alicia Silverstone

Rolling Stone  1995: Teen Queen

From Crazy to Clueless Alicia Silverstone was with no doubt the teen queen of the 90s.

Go pink

Silverstone came to fame as ‘the girl in the Aerosmith video’ after appearing in several of the bands music videos and following a Lolita role in the 1993 film Crush. Silverstone then went on to play the girl we all know and love; the iconic Cher Horrowitz in 1995s Clueless.

Sex, clothes, popularity....whatever!

Clueless captured a moment in pop culture. The fashion, music and snappy slang is encapsulated in Amy Heckerling’s take on Jane Austin’s Emma.

'As if'

Alicia played the pampered, but sweet, Beverly Hills Princess CherClueless is everything a teen movie should be and led the pack of 1990s filmed aimed at the MTV generation.

A Virgin who can't driiiiiive

Fashion - Cher’s wardrobe really captured the best of 90’s fashion. It bypassed grunge and went straight for the baby doll dresses, tartan skirts, over knee socks, headbands, platforms and tanks with oversized cuffed shirts.

Er HELLO this is an Alaia!!!

And who can forget the Azzedine Alaia dress she wore to the 'Val' party?!

The Clueless soundtrack just about sums up 90s pop culture...and pretty much Novateur's ideal playlist...

Trend Watch SS11: The Seventies Flares Up

Seventies Supermodel: Jerry Hall

Novateur's favourite trend is back with force. The only decade to be living in this summer is the 70s.

Think high waisted flares, wide trousers, decorative and wooden shoes, silk blouses, suede skirts, halter necks and floral maxi dresses. Accessorise with printed scarves (great as bandanas), floppy hats, feathers, tassels, fringing and round or brown tinted sunglasses. For daytime inspiration think Farrah Fawcettsun-kissed skin, denim overload, flares and paisley prints. For evening go glam disco queen in silk dresses and jumpsuits a la Bianca Jagger at Studio 54.

Here's Novateur's edit on how to do it...

LOVING the new Missoni spring/summer 2011 campaign.  Shot at London's Museum of Everything by Juergen Teller the images feature members of the Missoni clan along with friends and acquaintances. Bond Ambition

They're the ultimate femme fatales and the sexiest of sex symbols. Sometimes deceitful, always a love interest & forever remembered as the most glamorous female icons of the 20th century...lets all hail the Bond Girls
Like sexed up Hitchcock heroines they inspire glamour as they go from bikini to gown. And feminists let us not forget; they are always vital in the success of a Bond mission.
Here are a few of my favourites...

Honor Blackman as 'Pussy Galore' in 1964's Goldfinger

From a Beatle to Bond: Barbara Bach as 'Agent XXX' in 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me

Jane Seymour as 'Solitaire' in 1973's Live and Let Die

The Two Domino's: Christine Auger in 1965's Thunderball and Kim Basinger in 1983's Never Say Never Again

Eva Green as 'Vesper Lynd' in 2006's Casino Royale

The Ultimate: Ursula Andress as the quintessential Bond Girl 'Honey Ryder' in 1962's Dr.No
