STYLE INSPIRATION: Isabel Lucas

Oh Isabel

She is from Australia, she is a successful actress, she is a vegetarian and she has dated Adrian Grenier. However, more importantly here at Novateur, Isabel Lucas has the most incredible natural bohemian style the world has seen since we went Sienna mad circa 2004/2005. Bohemian, hippy, laid back…call it what you may…this girl can do no wrong. The success of her style (and the secret to carrying off boho) is to not care too much. Isabel wears minimal make-up, lets her hair hang loose and goes easy on the accessories.

This summer I will be looking nowhere else for inspiration. They say she throws on her clothes and steps out the door…and do you know what…I believe them. Isabel we salute you.

Mane & Tail: Bleach London

BLEACH IT

Technicolor hair = dream hair! Novateur hearts this trend as seen on the likes of Alexa, Drew et al and painted across the pages of the Topshop spring summer look-book.
Now it's your turn...

Cool Logo: The salon is named after the Nirvana album

If your dreaming of neon streaks, dips dyes or stenciled brights then head over to new Dalston salon BLEACH where the hipsters are flocking in their throngs. Anything goes here and the super trendy professional stylists are at your call to go as kaleidoscopic as you want.

Co-founded by Alex Brownsell, a session stylist who previously worked for brands such as House of Holland, and her neon haired business partner Sam Teasdale, the Bleach salon is up and running and all over the hot list. The duo first stepped on the radar after building up a super cool fanbase as a concession at WAH Nails on Kingsland Road and became infamous for inspiring the growing trend in funky rainbow hair. They colour the mane of many a London IT Girl including client Pixie Geldof who can pretty much be found in there every other week. Bleach also has a mini pop up salon in Topshop Oxford Circus so you have no excuse!

See you there!

Save The Sea at Selfridges

SAVE THE SEA

Selfridges is partnering with more than 20 environmental and conservation groups to celebrate our wonderful ocean. The events, which will run from 11 May – 12 June, will ‘highlight the issue of over-fishing, help us all understand the threats to the ocean and make positive choices about the right fish to buy and eat’.

The store will host a number of activities and events supported by members of the marine conservationist community, compassionate celebrities, musicians, artists, designers and chefs.

Highlights will include:

  • ‘Washed up’ curated by Judith Clark; a fashion exhibition of 26 ocean-inspired pieces by designers including Alexander McQueen and Hussen Chalayan. The exhibition will run throughout Project Ocean.

  • A ‘YO Sushi’ cooking event on 20th May where their team will be demonstrating cooking techniques using non endangered fish.

  • ‘Tales From the Deep’ on 2nd June. Selfridges Creative Director, Alannah Weston, will chair an evening of true stories told by passionate and adventurous Ocean explorers.

  • ‘Oceans’ screening on 22 May; a film following the undersea adventures of explorer and expedition leader Paul Rose, maritime archaeologist Dr Lucy Blue and marine biologist Tooni Mahto.

Selfridges will also be raising money for the Zoological Society of London by selling exclusive products including a ‘fish guide’ and phone app ‘fish forever’. Furthermore they have partnered with fashion designer Katherine Hammett who has produced a Project Ocean collection. All products are avaliable in-store and online at Selfridges.

I particularly love the Hammett pieces and can see them becoming the green ‘It’ pieces this summer!

For more information on Selfridges, Project Ocean, the events and to purchase Project Ocean products head to your nearest Selfridges store or visit them online at www.selfridges.com

So...remember...support Project Ocean and SAVE THE SEA!
